Veterans Pricing Program

Zenabis recognizes the sacrifices made by those who have served in our country’s armed forces.

Several key members of the Zenabis team are serving members or veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces. As a result, the ethos of ‘service before self’ guides our company as we strive for excellence as a leading provider of medicinal cannabis in Canada.

We thank Canadian heroes for their service by offering Canadian Armed Forces Veterans access to high-quality THC and CBD medical cannabis products at a discounted price through our Veterans Pricing Program. This program is available to all CAF veterans with a Veteran’s Service Card, regardless of their client status with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC).

There are two versions of the Veterans Pricing Program, depending on a veteran’s status with VAC:

Veterans who are not VAC clients

Veterans holding a Veteran’s Service Card who are not VAC clients are eligible to purchase medical cannabis from Zenabis at a discounted rate of $5/gram of dried flower or dried flower equivalent.

VAC clients

Veterans holding a Veteran’s Service Card and who are VAC clients with a Medavie Blue Cross number are eligible for coverage of up to 3 grams of dried flower (or dried flower equivalent) per day, subject to a limit of $8.50/gram.

We will coordinate direct billing with VAC so veterans who are covered by Medavie Blue Cross do not have to pay for medical cannabis out of pocket.

From all of us at Zenabis, thank you for your service.

Veterans Pricing Program FAQs

  • What is Zenabis’ Veterans Pricing Program for Medical Cannabis?

The Veterans Pricing Program provides veterans with access to high-quality medical cannabis at a discounted price. It is our way of saying thank you for your service.

We will work with Veterans Affairs Canada to coordinate coverage, so veterans with a K number do not have to pay out of pocket for up to 3 grams of medical cannabis per day (up to a maximum of $8.50/gram of dried flower or dried flower equivalent).

For veterans who hold a Veteran’s Service Card but are not VAC clients, we are proud to offer medical cannabis at a discounted rate of $5/gram of dried flower or dried flower equivalent.

  • What is covered by VAC and what is covered by Zenabis?

Under VAC’s current policy, veterans with Medavie Blue Cross coverage can be reimbursed for up to 3 grams of dried flower (or dried flower equivalent) per day, up to a maximum of $8.50/gram. Zenabis will work directly with VAC to coordinate coverage.

For veterans who are not VAC clients, Zenabis offers a reduced price of $5/gram of dried flower or dried flower equivalent (e.g. softgels, oral sprays, etc.).

  • Who qualifies for Zenabis’ Veterans Pricing Program?

We are pleased to offer enrollment in our Veterans Pricing Program to all honourably-discharged Canadian Armed Forces veterans with a Veteran’s Service Card and a Medical Document for medical cannabis.

Additional coverage is available to VAC clients with a Medavie Blue Cross Card.

You must also register with Zenabis as a medical cannabis patient in order to be eligible for this discount program.

  • How do I sign up for the Veterans Pricing Program?

Signing up for the Veterans Pricing Program can be done in two simple steps detailed above. Please note that you will need to speak to your health care provider to get a completed Medical Document, which is your prescription for medical cannabis.

  • Do I have to be a medical client with Zenabis in order to qualify for this program?

Yes. In order to purchase medical cannabis from Zenabis, you must register with Zenabis as a medical cannabis client.

If you are already registered as a medical cannabis client with a different licensed provider, improvements to the Cannabis Act now allow medical cannabis patients to request the transfer of their Medical Document to a different federally licensed seller. Please speak to your licensed provider if you would like to transfer your Medical Document to Zenabis.

  • How do I get access to medical cannabis?

Access to medical cannabis requires a Medical Document, which is like a prescription. Only licensed health care practitioners can complete Medical Documents for medical cannabis. Please speak to your health care provider to determine if medical cannabis is right for you.

Medical conditions for which cannabis is commonly prescribed include chronic pain, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), insomnia, glaucoma, arthritis, cancer, multiple sclerosis (MS), and epilepsy.¹

  • I’m not a veteran but I need assistance paying for medical cannabis. Can I still enroll?

The Veterans Pricing Program is designed to assist veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and current Veterans Affairs Canada clients access medical cannabis. We will be expanding our Veterans program to a broader category of patients in the future so please stay tuned.
